A couple of years ago, I was introduced to this Gold, Silver, Copper and Lead mine in Inyo County, California. Over time, I have collected a number of very interesting specimens and after having some XRD work done to confirm and indentify some species, they are now ready to be shown!

This specimen is very bright and is loaded with Linarite. There is also Galena and possible Caledonite. The bright yellow mineral used to be called Bindheimite, but is now more accurately called Oxypumboromeite.

This is a cluster of flat lying Caledonite crystals. We originally thought the light green was Leadhillite, but further analysis determined it to be Cerussite that is everlying either Brochantite or Chrysocolla.

This was a very interesting specimen. When I found it, there was a nice coverage on the top, as you can see in the first photo, but there was a small vug going in at a 90 degree angle from the top. So when I got it hoe, I trimmed it so the vug would open up and the crystals in the vug are much better than the ones on top! The other side of the specimen sold for $2500.00!!

There are some very well formed crystals of Caledonite in this little pod enclosed by the Oxyplumboromeite/ Tripuhyite matrix. The black coating on some of the Caledonite crystals is Murdochite.

This is a very unusual piece. On one side you can see the alteration in the Galena with a bunch of small Caledonite crystals and probably some Cerussite and Leadhillite as well. On the other side it looks like Chalcedony solution cavities with lots of small Mimetite tufts. Neat rock!

This specimen is very fun under the microscope! Not only are the Caledonite crystals beautiful and gemmy, but there are dozens of Cerussite crystals and tiny Murdochite crystals all over the place. There is also a green mineral, likely Brochantite, but possibly Arsentsumebite.
